Meeting with YÖK Delegation in TRNC
Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu met with a delegation from YÖK in TRNC to conduct technical work and evaluate the current situation of universities. Various officials attended the meeting, including the Turkish Republic Ambassador to Nicosia Metin Feyzioğlu, TRNC Prime Ministry Undersecretary Hüseyin Cahitoğlu, YÖK Vice President Prof. Dr. Haldun Göktaş, and representatives from both YÖK and the ministry.
In his statement before the meeting, Çavuşoğlu emphasized the long-standing cooperation between the ministry and YÖK in addressing issues related to higher education. He highlighted the importance of collaboration in solving problems and mentioned the protocols signed between the two institutions to enhance this cooperation.
YÖK Vice President Prof. Dr. Haldun Göktaş acknowledged the challenges faced in higher education in TRNC and stressed the need for urgent evaluation and action. He emphasized the integrated nature of higher education and the vision behind the international standards set for the system.
Turkey's Ambassador to Nicosia Metin Feyzioğlu expressed the importance of not allowing investigations in one university to tarnish the entire TRNC university system. He reassured that Turkey is ready to provide technical support and emphasized the need for collective efforts in solving any issues that may arise.
