Traffic Violations and Impoundments
During traffic inspections conducted by the police nationwide yesterday, a total of 1528 vehicle drivers were checked, and 341 drivers were reported for various traffic violations. Among the reported violations, 218 drivers were found to be exceeding the legal speed limit, 20 drivers were using their cell phones while driving, 16 drivers were not wearing seat belts, 8 drivers were driving without a valid navigation permit, 2 drivers were driving uninsured vehicles, and 77 drivers were penalized for other traffic offenses.
The police statement also indicated that 23 vehicles were impounded as a result of the violations reported.
